Monochrome B.R. '04

There is no way that I was going to mix the black and white shots with the color ones. That's just against all things good and holy!

Beach Reach '04

This is only a small portion of the craziness and wonder that came about that week. All I have to say is that The White Rabbit can take The Flying Twinky any day, hands down!

Here's a teaser.

Us Two
I actually worked on my pictures for about two hours today, but it's still a bit piecemeal. This will have to do until the big one. And it will be big. Also, I'm working on another poem which you might see soon. I've been thinking about it since my drive through the night from Denver.

So many promises.

Ok, I know that I haven't made any posts for over a week, but it's not my fault... sort of. I was at South Padre Island last week during Spring Break. There are some amazing stories from that trip. But I will save those for later in order to accompany them with pictures. The best part of the week was having the opportunity to get to know some awesome people.
This week, I've been in Colorado snowboarding with an old friend at Breckenridge. I haven't seen William Kuster in some years, and it might be a few more before I get to see him again, so I took the opportunity to skip a week of school and hang out with him. I wasn't going to tell my parents about it, but then they came into town unexpectedly! That was pretty funny.
I came into the internet cafe tonight intending to upload some more great photos, but then I realized that I had forgotten to bring the cradle for the camera. It won't connect to the computer without it. Ah well, I suppose you can wait one more day if you've waited this long.

Thursday, March 11

It's been too long.

Face in Lamp
I apologize for the long absence. Sometimes things just get busy. My parents are back from Guatemala, and are in town. That's been fun to catch up with them. Things at the BSM are taking off like a rocket. I could not have asked for better people to work with. Everyone is so full of ideas and energy for the ministry. It's been so exciting. Next week is Spring Break and I am heading down to South Padre Island. We've put together a team of people from the BSM, the Wesley, and Chai Alpha to go down to Beach Reach this year and they are awesome.
Go Forth
It's the usual Beach Reach run down with the free van rides for everyone, picking up trash on the beach, and free midnight pancake breakfasts, etc. It's very cool to cross some of these stupid denominational boundaries and work together for ministry. In fact, it hasn't just been Beach Reach. There has been an overall movement on campus of Christian organizations beginning to work together as a team. That has been pretty cool.
Mad John
This is John, the BSM intern, during one of our weekly (or is it week long) meetings. He isn't appreciating his picture being taken. Oh well.

"I am the Lord; that is my name!
I will not give my glory to another or praise to idols."

Who needs a photo?

Let Me Go

Your glory, it silences the Earth.
Not a blade of grass will whisper,
for all of creation is transfixed by Your beauty.
In this silence, I have known the Love that will not let me go.
It will not surrender me.
Though I embrace it or turn from it,
though I hate it and conspire in every way to cheat it,
it will not let me go.
Love never fails, though we do not comprehend what it is winning.
